Cayos Cochinos

Let us take you on an exploration of this enchanting group of islands close to the mainland of Honduras. It’s around 25 miles from Roatan and it typically takes us around 50 minutes to get there.

Once we arrive we’ll make a stop at Cayo Menor first, where we’ll pay the Marine Park fee and take the optional tour. Then we’ll tie up at the shallow mooring of Pelican Point for our first dive/snorkel. This reef has many different levels and depths that allow for an amazing experience for both our divers and snorkelers.

Apart from plenty of colorful reef fish there’s a big chance of spotting eagle rays and nurse sharks in this area. The shallow reefs feature very healthy colonies of brain, star and elkhorn corals.

R.A.D. BOAT: “BLONDIE”

‘Blondie’ is a 2024 36 foot custom built cruiser with a comfortable cushioned front seating area, private bathroom with a fresh water rinse station, a middle scuba area with storage for 29 tanks, and a rear fishing deck with 10 rod holders. Our boat is powered by two new 2024 300HP Yamaha engines, and features a Garmin GPSMap 1223, 9 speaker marine stereo system and extra on board storage.

For our second dive/snorkel we’ll move further up to the North side of Cayo Major, the Lion’s Paw.

In this area you can spot the rare yellow stingray and a multitude of colorful sponges, fans and large colonies of corals.

After plenty of time in the water we’ll head to Chachahuate, home to a Garifuna fishing community, where we’ll get a taste of the local culture and cuisine. We’ll enjoy a local lunch on the beach and get to know the friendly people that live on this tiny island.

On our way back to Roatan you’ll be able to relax on our super comfortable boat and enjoy some refreshments. Join us for a day of exploration, relaxation and a taste of local culture in these pristine tropical waters.
